Art Promotions - Intermediate Level Classes

Before embarking on Intermediate Level Classes it is advisable that you have a good basic knowledge of the Silver materials that you will be working with. You really should have completed at least one class from each stage in the                                and be happy and comfortable to move forward with your Solid Silver Jewellery.

In Intermediate Workshops you will be introduced to Lab-created Gemstones and all the different methods of mounting them in to your Silver. CZ crystals can also be experimented with along with other materials as colour inserts.

Making moulds and using hollow forms will be explored. Intermediate Classes are designed to expand your knowledge of your silver jewellery and what you can achieve.

It is advisable that each stage is taken more than once.
All Intermediate Classes should be taken and Stages 1 - 3 should be taken at least twice before progressing to

Stage 1. 'Pendant with Gems'

Materials (provided)

20g of Pure Silver
Lab-created Gemstones
999 Bezel if needed
999Bail if needed
Choice of necklace; Ribbon, Cord, Leather Thong or 925 Sterling Silver chain.

This Intermediate Pendant Class allows you to really explore the design of your silver jewellery. To work with different colours and use nature and everyday objects as inspiration.

Stage 2. 'Intermediate Ring Class'

15g of Pure Silver
Lab-created Gemstons
999 bezel if needed

Your first Intermediate Ring Class will concentrate on a single gem mounted on or in to a simple ring. Subsequent classes will explore different ring styles and the different techniques used to create them - including filigree designs.

Stage 3. 'Intermediate Earrings Class with Gems'

925 Sterling Silver earring hooks or studs

Again you can use this class to design matching earings for your pendant from earlier classes.

Stage 4. 'brooch Class'

20g of Pure Silver
Adjustable length Brooch Pin

The Brooch Class is similar in a lot of respects to the pendant class but at Intermediate Level we can start to look at fixed findings and how to attach them to our Pure Silver piece. A brooch pin is expected to be able to move and take quite a bit of use - as such it may not always be advisable to use pure or even sterling silver.

Stage 5. 'bracelet Workshop'

7ins Sterling open link bracelet if needed

A new class only available at the end of Intermediate Level. This class is designed to use all your knowledge gained in previous classes. Because of the intricate nature of the bracelet class, this workshop is best split over 2 days.
